Going Multi-Site, pt. 1

Several weeks ago we announced that Connections is going multi-site.
That means we're adding a worship service:

7pm Sunday nights
Labatt Hall @ King;s University, 266 Epworth Ave
Starting September 20, 2009

This week I want to share my thoughts and our plans for this service.
So if your interested in the nuts and bolts of church planting, and why we are adding this worship service at this time and in this way, read on.

OK, if you're still with me, here's the back-story.

This past Winter Connections engaged in a Ministry review.
For me the review meant one thing: decide to keep moving forward, or to pull the plug on Connections.

Nobody thought we should pull the plug.
There was a HUGE amount to enthusiasm to move forward: from our volunteers, our leaders and the folks that helped us to honestly assess the health of our church plant.

So we then prayerfully decided some strategic areas for development.
Three tangible goals emerged:
  • Add a new worship service
  • Add staff
  • Add a ministry center
This is about that first goal- to add a new service.
Our vision for a new worship service is simple:
A new service at a new place to reach new people.

This isn’t about asking people to go to 2 worship services.
I’ll be preaching the same message.

This is about Connections becoming one church that meets at different times in different places to reach different people.

More on that tomorrow.
