Monday Highlights

Here the thoughts going through my head on this Monday morning, August 17...

  • October 4 is going to be our 100th public worship service at the SilverCity Theatre! Mark the date and plan for a HUGE celebration.
  • September 20 we will start our preview services at Labatt Hall (September 20 and 27.)
  • Then I say we plan on launching the new service with the 100th service celebration.
  • My mantra for explaining the new service is very simple: "New service at a new time in a new place to reach new people.
Things I need to do...
  • Plan our next baptism service! 4 people came up and told me they were ready to be baptized yesterday! That is so incredibly exciting!
  • Order some nice brochures for Connections. Does anyone read brochures? Only Christians looking for a new church. But still, it's time we do this.
  • Launch the new website. They guys are awesome, I'm the one slacking on getting them the information and updates they need.
  • We need that new T-Shirt that never happened this summer!
  • Maybe our new t-shirt needs to be a new sweatshirt. Would anyone order a sweatshirt?
Things I'm working on...
  • Finalizing the Fall Connection Group Catalog
  • Editing the Connection Group Leaders Handbook and training for August 30.
  • We planned our Volunteer Round-up for September 20. Now we are starting our preview service that night. What to do?
  • Will I ever visit more potential sites for office space? All of the sudden our Second Harvest Ministry makes having an office make sense.
  • Fall Series: "Unveiled," "The Game of Life: Round 2," and "A Staff, a Goat, a Crown and a Crib." That will take us right through 2009!
Things I'm thinking about...
  • Do we hire the person who is already in place and make the position work, or, do we define the position and hire the right person?
  • Do we over-extend ourselves financially and grow into the position, or, do we hire at a level that works now, and grow the position as the church grows?
Finally- going to the beach with my kids because it's finally hot!

That should be enough to keep me out of trouble this week.
