Five (more) Things That Would Transform Your Life

I suggested five simple things that will transform your relationship with God that everyone can do:
  1. Worship God- every weekend!
  2. Bring a friend to church.  Or at least keep inviting them.
  3. Give.  Where your money goes, so goes your heart.
  4. The "Daily Office:" a few minutes everyday for bible reading and a prayer.
  5. Join a home group.
I have to add five more simple things you can do:

1. Get a Mentor
Everyone should have someone they can look up to.  They should also know that they serve this role in your life.  You might meet regularly, monthly, or just whenever you feel the need.  What is essential is that you allow this person to speak into your life.

2. Start Mentoring
If you have moved even one step down the path of faith in Jesus, bring someone else along!  Many young Christians discount their ability to make a difference in someones life. DO NOT DO THIS!  God will you uniquely at this time in your life, and in the lives of others.  One of the most evident fruits of genuine faith is the desire to serve.  So start serving someone in this way now.

3. Join a Team
Our church, and most every church, has numerous opportunities to volunteer.  And most of these are in teams.  Serving your church on a ministry team is often the game changer in someones faith.

4. Take a Sabbath
I have to throw this on in because it's so obvious, yet so little applied.  A Sabbath is not a day off.  Our culture already tells us to take two days off a week.  Sabbath is a day to rest from work in order to be with God.  For most of us it is Sunday: we go to worship, spend time in fellowship, read a bit more of the bible, and perhaps have our home group.  Why wouldn't you want to honor God and grow your faith with a Sabbath!

5.  Share your faith
Nothing grows our faith like sharing our faith.  Pick 2 to 4 people you love, pray daily for them, serve them, and take opportunities to share Jesus' story with them.
