Five Things That Could Transform Our Worship Service

The last three posts, while providing simple, doable things that would transform your faith and our worship service, were a bit heavy.  In order to lighten things up today, I'm just throwing out five simple things that could dramatically improve Connections worship service.  Just little tweaks that come to mind:

Better Signage
Signs along Fanshawe.  Signs on Richmond.  Signs all around the theatre.  Signs in your yard!
Great signs help visitors know exactly where everything is.  And that knowledge would make them so much more comfortable!  We should get more signs.

Whipped Cream
Hey, we already make the best fair trade, locally roasted coffee in the city, why not go all the way!  I think I should add to our supply list lots of whipped cream, caramel drizzle, cinnamon and sugar sprinkle.  Who buys that stuff anyways?  Get some whipped cream and Halloween sprinkles this week!

Improved Lighting
This one may not be easy.  Our team works so hard to get lighting in that theatre, but it's still so dark.  There has to be some better system out there, we just haven't found it.  If you know of a killer lighting system (Easy to set up and bright) let us know.

Gift Bags
Hey, we already do this!  So if you see someone with a gift bag, it means they are a visitor.  And that means you should go out of your way to make them feel welcomed!

No One Gets Out Alone
By the end of the service everyone should have connected with someone.  I'm NOT saying that we can't leave space for folks to visit quietly and check out our church.  But everyone should be given the opportunity to engage in a conversation about our church.

Admittedly this is an art.  Greet everyone and take a read: if they seem to engage the conversation, go for it.  If they seem to want to lay low, let them be.  But the point remains- no one should get out feeling dis-connected.
