Five Things that Will Transform Your Worship Experience

The first thing in yesterday's post, "Five Things To Grow Your Faith" was worship.
There is really NO way around this- if you want to grow in your relationship with God, you have to make Corporate worship top priority.  It's really this simple:
God is worthy of all of our lives, so the least we can do is offer to Him this time of worship.  Remember, God doesn't need our worship.  We need to worship him!
We are the ones bound by time, body and limited resources.  Not God.
We need to give that time, with our bodies, and with our gifts, to God.

So think of worship as your weekly "date" with God.  Plan on it.  Anticipate it. And don't let anything stop you from keeping it.  And since you're going to meet, make the most of it with the following "Five things that will transform your worship experience:"

Early is Not Too Late
Since you are getting out of bed, getting ready, and showing up.  Show up early!
Save yourself the hassle, the rush, the stress that might ruin a potentially life changing experience.
Many people miss God by just showing up too late.

"You're Welcome" (Or, "Everyone is a Greeter")
If every Christian embraced their role in creating an atmosphere of hospitality, every church in the world would grow.  Since you are showing up, show up ready to be welcomed and to welcome others.
If you see someone looking lost, make them feel found!
If you see someone looking lonely, make them not alone!

Sit Up Front
I'm killing some sacred cows now!
Listen- you're out of bed, you showed up, you welcomed others.
Now it's all about God!  So sit right up front!
There's no one there to distract you.
Sing your heart out.  Raise your hands for all I care.  Just go for it.
(And if you think that everyone will be looking at you and thinking about you, let me break the news to you: other people think far less about you than you might think.  The truth is that most people are too busy thinking about themselves.)
So sit up front and just get busy thinking about God!

Volunteer Once a Month
If you volunteer once a month it will change you and your church!  Your church will not be scrambling for help.  You'll feel like a part of the team.  And on the 3 other Sunday's out of the month you'll be so happy to just be free to show up and worship God without anything else on your mind.

"I'm Hungry, How About You?"
Just make this a part of the routine.  If you have no plans after worship, plan on lunch with someone.  Plan on inviting an old friend, or a new one.  Or go out for lunch.  We are all going to eat, so why not carry the worship experience right on into some fellowship experience?

How do I know these 5 simple things can transform your worship experience?
Because I do them every Sunday.
