What Values?

Walk up to someone and without warning, ask them, "What do you value?"
You may get a strange look at first, but after the initial shock, it's an easy question to answer.
Almost anyone could mention half-a-dozen values off the top of their head:
My family, my health, freedom, my job, God...

People, and churches, operate out of a set of values; stated or unstated; thoughtful or unthoughtful.

So our church, like most churches, has a "Values" document.
I'll admit that it's kind of academic and "dry."

If our stated values are going to become more reflected in our community they are going to have to come to life. And the best way I know how to do that is to put life stories on each.

So over the next few days I am going to pull together some stories to illustrate how our church is living our values.

My hope is to stir up more stories.
And in turn, to live more faithfully by our values.

So read over the values statement and let me know if it stirs up any stories that you want to share with us.
