I think tonight's highlights double as my prayer list:
We ordered a brand new sound system for the Evening Worship Service at Labatt Hall last week. It should be ready to go for kicking off our new series this Sunday. We are getting some good response from students, but have a ton of work to do in getting this out to the community. If this is going to be part of our church community, it needs to better reflect our community. Pray for some supernatural growth to this service, or a flash of insight in how we can spread the word that the service exists.
Speaking of evening worship, we have a lead on a new site for a Christmas Eve service. This would be another Connections first. Pray that this will fall into place.
We've had over 40 requests from agencies and individuals for goods through our Second Harvest Ministry. If you want to help out join us from 3-6pm tomorrow (October 27th) at 85 Charles St. Park at the church next to London Christian Academy and come aroudn back to the portable where we store our stuff. We might be handing out all 14 pallets of products! Amazing. Thank you so much John Vandersteen, Mike Talsma, Robin Saylor and Nicole Hoftyzer.
Nicole is taking the reigns on our distribution of the Second Harvest goods. I love it when somebody can take the lead and truly own an area of ministry like this. This is how our church is going to change our community and change lives.
Speaking of taking leadership. I'm just going to go ahead and say Steve Pye is helping us to creatively think about and work towards establishing a ministry centre. He has brought some ideas and abilities to the table that rock my world. It is so awesome when you see how God wires people differently and uses them to do things you could never do. That's truly seeing the church function as the body of Christ.
Oh, just got the DVD set of the Leadership Summit. Who wants to be part of a Summit Connection Group? We'll plan for 8 weeks. We'll watch a talk and then discuss and apply the teaching to our work.
OK, that's enough for tonight. Time for rest.
