Let me explain.
The church is most commonly referred to as the body of Christ, or the fellowship of believers, in the bible. That body/fellowship was characterized by activities such as worshiping, praying, teaching and sharing life together. They did this at the temple, in the public square and in each others homes. Sometimes it was a huge gathering, other times just a few. Leadership was in place to direct the new believers, but everyone took a role in the ministry of the church.
So before we started meeting at Silver City, a small group of people started being the church together.
We had one simple mission- to see people come to know Jesus as their Lord.
Everyone had a part to play.
And we didn't need to wait to start our "formal" worship service to live that mission.
Are you being the church?
If not, what are you waiting for?
You have all you need: the mission of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
- You have a church that will stand in front of you, leading the way.
- A church that will stand beside you as you embrace your role.
- A church that will stand behind you as you take the lead in new missions and new ministries.
Let's call this a "With You" church. It's a church that you serve with, and that serves with you in being the body/fellowship of believers.
