Here is the third thing to do this summer.
First- Join us in some of our "Servant Evangelism" events.
The next two: Friday and Saturday, 7-8pm, handing out granola bars and invitations in Victoria Park at Ribfest. Meet at 531 Talbot St.
Why are these important?
One, they set a time and place to do something that we know we should already be doing- loving our city and building our church!
two, there is power in doing something in pairs, as a church. It's a spiritual thing. Conversations happen. "God" things happen. It's weird, but it always happens.
The second thing to do this summer- Invite visitors to lunch!
This is something all of our "Connectors" need to do after the worship service.
Who is a "Connector"? If in your heart you know you have crossed that line, and you identify yourself as a part of our church, then you are a Connector!
I'll state it this dramatically- if someone visits our church, an invitation to lunch is the MOST IMPORTANT part of there experience. Really. In a few days they won't be able to name the songs or remember much of the message,
but,
if YOU take them out to lunch, they will remember YOU!
Finally- Plan your own event!
Really, have a cookout, and invite all those folks you've been wanting to see this summer- folks from church AND your neighbors. (Yes, set-up your neighbors to meet others from Connections!)
Plan a golf game, and yes, invite co-workers AND Connectors.
Plan trip to the beach with some families.
Tailgate party at the drive in!
The possibilities are endless.
The key is to intentionally invite folks from church, and folks you've been wanting to introduce to our church. This way, if you can't get them to Connections, you take Connections to them!
