This isn't my normal forum for getting information out.
But this is what our Family Ministry Director, Sarah DeVries, has planned.
If you have kids in our family ministry you NEED to know about upcoming changes.
If you don't have kids you'll want to know what is happening in this essential part of our ministry.
_____
First of all, I would really like to say a HUGE thank you to a few volunteers who have served our kids over the past year. All of these people have been a vital part of our team and will be missed as they move from London. We will greatly miss these awesome people and wish them well.:
* Val and Nate Bokma who volunteered in our Scampers and Preschool rooms
* Robyn Bone who was a leader in our Connections Kids group (She'll be back in the fall.)
* Eric Pilles who volunteered in our Preschool room (He'll be back in the fall too.)
* Kim Kabbes- a volunteer in our Bambinos/Scampers room
We also want to welcome a new face, Jennifer Edgely, to Family Ministry. Jennifer will be volunteering with our Connections Kids. Thank you Jennifer :)
The last order of business is the change that will be made to the start time of the Preschool room. Currently the Preschool room is open at the beginning of the worship service. Some kids are brought to the room before worship begins and some are brought after the singing is finished. This poses a lot of difficulty for the person leading the room. A choice has to be made by the leader when the lesson should start. There is also a disruption of the group when the rest of the kids arrive. By making one start time, it will avoid parents having to choose if their kids will miss part of the lesson or miss the song service.
Starting on May 9th, Mother's Day, the Preschool age kids will be seated with their family for worship with the band, and dismissed along side the Connections Kids group. This format will allow children to experience the worship service along with their family, while still having a lesson/activity time tailored to their age group.
As we push forward in our ministry, please continue praying for us. Pray for more volunteers, for the caring and compassionate volunteers we have and for the families that make up our church. We are a village- and it takes all of us to raise our kids.
Blessings
Sarah Devries
