At Christmas YOU gave Connections a great boost of confidence by giving to a fund to open a Ministry Centre.
We've been looking at properties and crunching numbers every since.
Now we find ourselves at a fork in the road:
One direction is to pursue a partnership with Bibles For Missions Thrift Stores. This option means we sub-lease office space at the store for a Connections Office. There are a lot of uncertainties around this move. It's not even certain that BFM would will want to sublease to a church! But this much is clear- a store will open up in London, and folks from Connections will be involved.
The other direction is to move forward with our own ministry centre. This would not be a new space for worship, but a place to do ministry throughout the week. This way we focus on our growing needs and our presence in the community. We still like the idea of doing or own "subleasing" to a ministry partners.
There are pros and cons with both directions, and I can see either working.
So I'm asking that everyone who cares about Connections to commit this to prayer.
Pray for the Stewardship Team; pray that a property will open up; pray that we will sense the Spirit's blessing in this process.
But do us this favor: don't bother telling us what you think we should do.
If, in prayer, you believe we should pursue a partnership with BFM, then offer to get on the Steering Team, and help make it happen.
If, in prayer, you believe we should open our own ministry centre, then offer to help us find, renovate and operate this space!
Opinions won't help us make this decision, and we can't go in both directions.
Your prayers, and if you feel led, your help, is what will help clarify the direction we take.
And like I keep telling myself: it's not our first step, it' snot our last step.
It's just another step in our mission for this next season of ministry.
