Yesterday we launched our summer series, "Legendary."
We will be walking through the legendary life of Jesus as taught in the Gospel of Mark.
Our message looked at the simple call of Jesus to "Follow me."
As simple as that sounds, we know it can be a messy proposition.
When we start to follow Jesus, he seems to get into everything:
Our beliefs and behaviours, our thoughts and actions,
our work and our play, our family and friendships...
But don't make the call to follow Jesus any more complicated than it is:
Jesus invites us to simply follow him before anything else.
It's the invitation to be with Jesus.
To be in a relationship with him.
To know and be known by him.
So don't feel like you have to have it all figured out,
or your life all straightened out.
(Let's be honest, we never get all our questions answered, or all of our lives figured out.
That's why we call it faith!)
So this summer, just be with Jesus,
and see where he takes you.

We invite you to come along by reading through Mark all summer.
Here are a few tips, as printed on the book-marks we have available:
1. Get a good study Bible, the YouVersion app, or go to Biblegateway.com
2. Pick a time and place, and put it in your daily planner.
3. Start with prayer, connect with God, get a focused mind and expectant heart.
4. Record your prayers, insights and questions in a journal or online.
5. Find a partner. Encourage each other and share your experience.
In order to encourage you, and others, on the journey, we'll post a daily reading on our Facebook page
And each Sunday we will highlight a reading from the upcoming week in our worship service.
So commit to the reading plan,
join us for worship,
and plan on being blessed,
because this is going to be a legen...(wait for it)...dary adventure!
